RACINE, Wis. - Three Case IH products have been honored with AE50 awards for 2010. The prestigious awards, sponsored by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), recognize the most innovative new agriculture equipment products around the globe every year.
The award-winning products were announced at ASABE's Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference January 11, 2010, and recognized at the Ag Connect Expo January 13 - 15, 2010. Winners are also highlighted in ASABE's Resource magazine.
"The ASABE has consistently recognized Case IH for featuring the newest products, technologies and innovations in agricultural equipment," says Jim Walker, Case IH vice president of North America. "Every year, our product development process begins with our customers. Whether it's a brand new product, an added feature or an expansion of an existing line, we start by listening to customers' needs and wants. The winning Case IH products are designed to solve common producer issues and save them time, costs and labor while improving user safety."
The AE50 is the only awards program of its kind. For two decades, the AE50 awards have annually recognized the best products introduced in the previous year for the agricultural, food and biological systems industries. A panel of experts selects up to 50 winners based on commercial impact, contributions to agriculture and engineering and advancements in engineering and technological significance.
About the winning Case IH equipment:
Precision HoeTM 800 Air Hoe Drill
With working widths of up to 70 ft., the all-new Case IH Precision Hoe 800 is ideal for producers growing canola, wheat and other high-value, small-seed crops on large acreages. Thanks to its patented parallel link row unit with double-shoot knife opener and unique single shank design, the air hoe drill offers accurate seed and fertilizer placement and excellent residue flow, even in uneven conditions.
Trip force and packing pressure for the row units can be adjusted to accommodate field conditions. Weight distribution is controlled through a patent-pending hydraulic cylinder mounted on the front of each frame section; the same cylinders fold the unit into and out of field position.
This rearward folding frame design allows wide working widths while providing industry-leading compact transport at 18 ft. 4 in. wide and 16 ft. 9 in. high. Growers can get more acres covered in less time while also enjoying visibility, stability and safety on the road.
Austoft® 8000 Series Sugar Cane Harvester
Case IH Austoft sugarcane harvesters lead the world in cane-harvesting technology and dependability, promoting excellent cane quality and ultra-clean samples.
1260 Early Riser® Planter
The new Case IH 1260 Early Riser planter represents the next major advancement in planter frame design, providing significant improvements in machine stability, maneuverability, serviceability and convenience in both the planting and transporting positions. For starters, the industry-exclusive bi-fold links deliver a wide draft stance in planting position and maximum tracking over uneven terrain while allowing a transport width as narrow as 13 ft. 8 in. and an overall length that is 13 to 26 ft. shorter than other comparable large-frame planters.
The caster-style wing wheels shift up to 10,000 lbs. off of the tractor hitch in transport while increasing ground clearance. An integrated wing lock system allows the planter wings to "float" with ground terrain in transport position and be secured in a safe operating position without the use of mechanical linkage. And, the patented hydraulic steerable rear axle reduces the turning radius to only 20 ft., offering outstanding maneuverability.
The Early Riser 1260 is available in 36-row and 32-row configurations. Like all Case IH planters, the Early Riser 1260 provides best-in-class seed spacing, uniform depth control and excellent seed-to-soil contact.
