Swine nutrition training available for pork producers

BROOKINGS — Two training events for pork producers that connect to the recently distributed National Swine Nutrition Guide are set for March 5 and March 11.
The U.S. Pork Center of Excellence and Extension swine nutritionists developed the National Swine Nutrition Guide. The guide consists of fact sheets and recommendations on nutrition, as well as a new diet formulation and evaluation software program.
Bob Thaler, S.D. Cooperative Extension swine specialist, said the training sessions should help swine producers use and understand the very latest information on swine nutrition.
“The sessions are March 5 in Sioux City, Iowa, and on March 12 in Owatonna, Minn., and are great opportunities to get the information and software and see how it can best benefit your operation,” Thaler said.
The guide and software is included in the $80 registration fee for either event. To register or learn more,  http://www.usporkcenter.org. Or, call 515-294-2490.
Producers who want the information but cannot attend a conference can purchase it for $125.
