A Conde man is recovering from injuries sustained in a June 5 farming accident in Spink County.

Matthew Henjum, 40, of Conde was at Sanford Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls, recovering from face and head injuries, according to Jessica Henjum.

Jessica Henjum is Matthew's sister-in-law, married to his brother, Brad Henjum. Jessica Henjum started a Caring Bridge account Friday, caringbridge.org/visit/matthenjum

In a June 8 post, Jessca Henjum described the accident.

"While trying to pull out stuck equipment, the chain snapped, shattered the back window of the tractor, and hit Matt in the head," her post stated.

Matthew Henjum was first taken from the field to Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center, then airlifted to Sioux Falls.

Since then, Matthew Henjum had been brought out of sedation, has responded to doctors and has communicated with loved ones.
