HURON, S.D. –The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will hold the regular scheduled State Technical Committee (STC) Meeting at 12:30 p.m. on May 22 at the Crossroads Hotel and Convention Center located at 100 Fourth Street SW, Huron, S.D. The STC serves as an advisor to the NRCS State Conservationist.

The tentative agenda for the meeting includes: Conservation Innovative Grants, Conservation Practice Standards Update, Conservation Collaboration Grant and Agreement Update, and 2019 Fiscal Year (FY) Program Updates: Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), Agricultural Easement Program (ACEP), South Dakota Wetland/HEL Compliance Update, Soil Health Update, State Wide Resource Concerns, and other topics.

There will be several special presentations: Herbicide Interactions with Cover Crop after Corn, Silage, and Wheat by Gared Shaffer, SDSU Extension weeds field specialist, South Dakota State University (SDSU) and Changes in Soil Organic Carbon and Land Use in the Midwest by SDSU Dr. Cheryl Reese and Shaina Westhoff.
