Submissions are being accepted until June 28 for the seventh annual South Dakota Film Festival, which runs Sept. 26-29 in Aberdeen.

The South Dakota Film Festival screens films in three categories: narrative, documentary and animation. The categories include short and feature-length films.

The South Dakota Film Festival is a partner with Withoutabox for the submission process. South Dakota Film Festival is an IMDb Qualifying Festival, granting all eligible film submissions a fast-tracked title page on IMDb.com.

The Aberdeen event calls itself the premiere film festival in South Dakota. According to a news release, “The SDFF offers a filmmaker-friendly environment with a casual vibe and one of the best filmmaker networking lounges in the area.”

More information about the submission process, rules and guidelines and the festival may be found at www.southdakota filmfest.org.

The South Dakota Film Festival may be followed on Facebook at South Dakota Film Festival and Twitter @SDFilmFest for the latest news, extension dates and special guest announcements.

The festival was founded in Aberdeen in 2007. It is a subsidiary of Capitol Cinema, which operates under Aberdeen Community Theatre’s nonprofit status. Major sponsors include Capitol Cinema and South Dakota Department of Tourism.
