Pottery, ceramic art on display at ARCC Gallery
A pottery and ceramics show at the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center Gallery features more than 80 pieces created by 25 artists.
Those artists work with stoneware, earthenware, micaceous clay and porcelain. Artwork in the show includes wheel-thrown pieces, hand-built sculptures, tiles, picture frames, functional and decorative vessels, a pet funerary urn, a pinhole camera and a flute.
Artists participating in the show are Mark Shekore, Barb Newman, Michelle Bacon, Hannah Nehlich, Brenda Kuckleburg, Jill Warner, Stacy Braun, Lois Beckner, Susie Ewinger, Schyler Kumpf, Samantha Knecht, Katie Scheurs, Katharina Schmid, Hannah Anderson, Julika Stripp, Alyssa Wherry, Faith Heller, Katherine Anderson, Jack Gould, Amanda Oeffner, Taylor Wilson and participant artists from the Empty Bowls program.
A reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Several of the artists will be on hand to discuss their work. Refreshments will be served.
The exhibit runs through March 16.
The ARCC Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
