A performance by a hypnotist Thursday night will kick off a 12-month series of shows that will raise money for a downtown Aberdeen sculpture walk.

The shows will be at the Ward Plaza’s Crystal Ballroom. The sculpture walk is a project of the Aberdeen Downtown Association and the Aberdeen Area Arts Council.

Thursday’s show will feature stage hypnotist Gabriel Holmes. The show begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7.

According to a news release, “Gabriel’s amazing stage is one the hottest, most hilarious, and unforgettable hypnotic stage shows in the country.”

Holmes has presented more than 1,100 shows all over North America.

Holmes has a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and received hypnosis training in Boston.

Tickets for the show are $15, both in advance and at the door. They’re available at the Aberdeen Downtown Association office and at the Ward.

Five dollars from each ticket sale goes toward the sculpture walk, which is coordinated by the Aberdeen Downtown Association.

The fundraisers will continue once a month.

Future shows include a show by magician Joe Barnett on May 18 and Spencer James, a comedian, June 15.
