Dacotah Prairie Museum, 21 S. Main St.: The photography of Israel Mickelson is on display until June 6. Museum hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. 605-626-7117.

Northern Galleries: The sculpture of Guerra de la Paz continues in the Isaac Lincoln Gallery. Senior thesis exhibitions run through early May in the President’s Gallery and the Student Center Gallery.

Wein Gallery, Presentation College: An exhibit titled “Tranquility” by Brenda Kuckelburg runs through May 30. Michael Eble will be the featured artist in June. The Wein Gallery is on the second floor of the campus’ main building and is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

ArtWorks Gallery, Lakewood Mall: Ruth Wegehaupt’s artwork is on display through May. Members include Lois Beckner, Peggy DenBesten, Nick and Nicole Fischer, Evonne Gilbertson, Jeanna Jerde, Brenda Kohlman, Brenda Kuckelburg, Pat Meacham Fries, Cheryl Olson, Bobbi Piasecki, Tom Schinderling, Carol Weber Green and Ruth Wegehaupt. Mugs the Coffee House, 1124 S. Washington St.: Lawrence Diggs exhibit opens May 30, with a reception from 3 to 7 p.m., and a program at 6 p.m.

Red Rooster Coffee House: Bicycle art is on display this month.

Outside Aberdeen

Granary Rural Cultural Center, 40161 128th St., Groton: Outdoor campus is open daily dawn to dusk until Oct. 15. Granary Art Gallery is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday until September.

Dakota Sunset Museum, Gettysburg: “Tying the Knot,” a display of wedding apparel. Open from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. 605-765-9480.

Eureka Pioneer Museum of McPherson County: The museum is open for the season. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 605-284-2293.

Frederick Area Historical Society, Main Street, Frederick: Local history displays, gift shop, perpetual rummage sale and fresh produce when available. Open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pollock Visitor/Interpretive Center: Center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and other times by appointment. 605-889-2450.

Timber Lake and Area Museum, Timber Lake: Timber Lake and Area Museum is open year-round, but out-of-town visitors are encouraged to call ahead to schedule. Call 605-865-3553 or 605-865-3546. Exhibits include ranch and rodeo, Cheyenne River and Standing Rock Sioux Reservation photos, artifacts and clothing, White Horse winter count, Alley Rex skull and other dinosaur fossils (many species), the most complete public exhibit of Fox Hills ammonite fossils in South Dakota, Timber Lake history 1910-40s, Gage-Traversie-Comeau wedding dresses, Brockamp wedding dress, antique pocket watches, extensive historical photo and genealogy collections, including Family TreeMaker database of 60,000 people. Large gift/book shop, traveler information center. Free admission.

Klein Museum, Mobridge: Fifteen life-size wax mannequins have been added to permanent displays in the museum. Museum has extensive American Indian and pioneer collection, a restored 1920s house, school house and post office. There is also a log cabin filled with farm machinery toy collection and scale model farm machinery. Admission charged. Hours are from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 605-845-7243.

Day County Museum, Webster: In county courthouse basement. Open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, and by appointment. Free.
