Crafts, theater planned this week at Storybook Land

The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is offering free entertainment and activities at Storybook Land all summer.

Participants of all ages are welcome to make magic slates at 7 p.m. Monday or worry dolls at 7 p.m. Thursday. A magic slate is a drawing tablet that is self-erasing,

Craft activities are at the castle and sponsored by the Aberdeen Optimist Club.

Performances of “Hello and Goodbye, Hansel and Gretel” presented by Storybook Land Theatre are at 10 a.m. Tuesday and 7 p.m. Wednesday and Friday at the castle stage. Storybook Land Theatre is co-sponsored by the Aberdeen Community Theatre and the Aberdeen Area Arts Council.

At 10 a.m. Friday, “Fables and Fairytales,” a special story time co-sponsored by the Alexander Mitchell Public Library, will be at the castle stage. The program is for children ages 3-7 and includes stories, songs, games and an arts and crafts activity.
