Tailgate cooking contest Friday
For the second year in a row, the Doland Women in Action are hosting a tailgate cook-off in conjunction with the school’s homecoming.
The cook-off will follow the homecoming parade on Friday at the football field.
All teams must be registered to be judged. The cost is $10 per team. Prep work may be done ahead of time, but competitors must cook all food at their tailgates. Napkins will be provided, but everything else is the cooks’ responsibility. You must have enough food for at least 50 people.
Judging will take place at 5:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at halftime of the football game. Categories include best walking food, people’s choice, school pride and most enthusiastic tailgate. Those who register by Monday will receive two free game passes.
To register, call Glenda McNutt at 605-460-2133 or send her an email at Glenda@yadaenterprises.net.
Public tasting is from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost of the tasting is $5 for those 11 and older and $3 for kids 6 to 10. Those 5 and younger eat for free.
