Art show opens Wednesday in Brookings
How do we perceive the world around us? How do our illusions shape our “reality?” Who are we really?
These are the topics explored by the animation and art of Lawrence Diggs at the Brookings Art Center. Described as “conversation catalysts,” the Diggs pieces, titled “Frames,” will be available to experience Wednesday (Oct. 2) until Oct. 31.
According to a news release, Diggs’ “aim is to stimulate discovery of the world around you.” The exhibit will include animation, digitally constructed images, watercolors, vinegar paintings, ceramics and metal paintings on various materials, such as paper and ceramic tiles.
An interactive presentation and reception will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 3) at the Brookings Art Center. The point of the reception is “to allow the public to meet the artist, engage with others and explore oneself.”
