Women In Blue Jeans Conference Spring Training – Feb. 23-24
The 15th annual Women in Blue Jeans conference will be held Feb. 23-24. The 2018 conference starts at 5 p.m. on Feb. 23 at the Highland Conference Center in Mitchell, S.D., and continues 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 24. Registration cost is $45 until Feb. 19 and $55 after that date.
Friday events include a light supper, home-based business shopping, two evening sessions followed by a seventh inning stretch and relaxation. The Friday evening sessions will feature instructions on chair yoga and current beer trends.
Saturday includes lunch and a variety of sessions including selecting a pet dog, cyber security for your business and personal computers, the importance of ag statistics, online record keeping, how to downsize, tips on starting a garden and important steps to follow when responding to an accident.
Returning this year is Assistant Attorney General Doug Barnett. “We are pleased to have Doug returning to our conference to continue the discussion and update the group concerning the meth and opioid epidemic in South Dakota,” stated Brenda Bode, committee member.
Saturday keynote speaker will be Katie Pinke, publisher and general manager of AgWeek, a weekly magazine and regional television show. “Katie is a great speaker who educates and encourages women in all their roles,” Peggy Greenway, committee member, added.
