Growing AgCEO’s program to be held at 6 S.D. locations in 2013

Like the Chief Executive Officer of any corporation, an AgCEO is a manager and visionary for their agricultural enterprise. Growing AgCEO’s will be taught in six locations in 2013 which includes Aberdeen and Watertown. The program focuses on teaching beginning farmers to use a systems approach to farm business planning.

In Aberdeen the program will run for four weeks and will be held from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. on February 13, 20, 27, and March 6. The cost for the four part series, including a meal at each meeting, is $250 for up to two people per operation. It will be held at the Aberdeen Extension Regional Center located at 13 2nd Ave SE, in Aberdeen.

A unique aspect to this series is that specific topics are decided by the participants. Therefore, topics may vary at each location. General topics include farm vision, resource inventory and management (family, land, crops, and livestock), along with financial record creation, budget development and analysis and production topics. All production systems are welcome.
