Rickertsen joins Hettinger Research Ext. Center

John Rickertsen has joined the North Dakota State University Hettinger Research Extension Center as a research agronomist.

He joined the center Jan. 14 and has a 100 percent research appointment.

The focus of Rickertsen’s research will be agronomic issues facing producers in southwestern North Dakota. These issues include variety and herbicide selection, fertilization, alternative crops, cover crops, crop rotations and no-till production practices.

Prior to coming to NDSU, Rickertsen was at South Dakota State University for 19 years, most recently as an Extension Service field specialist. He earned a B.S. in agronomy and an M.S. in plant breeding and genetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
