ServSafe Foodservice Manager Sanitation Recertification in Armour – Feb. 26

Brookings – SDSU Extension hosts a ServSafe Foodservice Manager Sanitation Recertification Course Feb. 26 in Armour at the 4-H Building, 39182 280th St., Armour.

The recertification course begins at 12:15 with registration and ends at 4:30 p.m. with an assessment. Pre-registration is required by Feb. 12.

“South Dakota food service establishments are required to have at least one person on staff that has passed an approved eight-hour food service manager sanitation training and certification program. ServSafe is an approved course,” said Lavonne Meyer, Extension Food Safety Specialist, Certified ServSafe Instructor.

She adds that law requires that this certificate needs to be renewed every five years. This class meets the requirements of South Dakota Department of Health Standards.

The training session cost is $50, class size is limited and registration for the event is required. Attendees are required to bring a photo ID, and encouraged to bring note taking materials as well as the meat thermometer.
