Spink County Young Farmers & Ranchers group plans busy month

The Spink County Young Farmers and Ranchers are gearing up for their busiest month, and we invite you to join us!

The February YF&R meeting will be held on Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion in Redfield. The guest speaker is Craig Haugaard, grain manager at North Central Farmers Elevator. He will focus on grain handling and market outlooks. Supper will be included in the evening. Contact Darci Martinmaas (460-8037) or Sarah Lambert (321-7374) by Feb. 10 if you are planning to attend.

Also in February, the group will be hosting Damian Mason, ag humorist who provides ag-themed comedy with a positive message for the people of agriculture (www.damian

mason.com). This will be a night for young and old to take a night off and be entertained. Mark your calendars for February 27th. The event will take place at the Redfield High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. A $5 admission fee will be charged at the door.

National Ag Day is quickly approaching. Spink County YF&R brings agriculture to elementary classrooms all across Spink and Faulk Counties. Students are able to participate in activities that illustrate the importance of agriculture in our world.
