SIOUX FALLS – William Doig, Waldron, Ind., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Hereford Show Jan. 24 in Sioux Falls.

Doig chose lot 25, SMAK LHF Inferno 65Y, a consignment from Starmak Herefords, Tea, S.D., as champion bull. He was sired by LG Inferno 42R and out of AH Online Miss 10R. He sold for $4,000 to Rich Fiene, Echo, Minn.

Reserve champion bull went to lot 13, LCX Super Correct 1203 ET, a consignment from Larry Crane, Mitchell, S.D. He was sired by Star TCF Shock & Awe 158W ET and out of MSU Keepsake 14S. He was the highest selling bull and sold for $6,000 to Mike Andersen, Menno, S.D.

The second highest selling bull was lot 11, a consignment from Sleepy Hollow Farm, Centerville, S.D. He sold to Braun Farms, Garretson, S.D., for $5,000.

Doig chose lot 6, SH Miss Porterhouse Y227A, a consignment from Amber Schmidt, Pipestone, Minn., as champion female. She was sired by SHF Porterhouse M33 P52 and out of SH Miss Ulla U203A. She was the highest selling female and sold for $5,000 to Kyle Bussmus, Mitchell, S.D.

Doig chose lot 2, LHF Catrena 1229, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by Lounsbery Hereford Farms, Centerville, S.D. She was sired by TFR Cyrus and out of LHF Miss Shaniah 563. She was the second highest selling female and sold for $3,300 to Sherrie Kerstinay, Volga, S.D.

Chisum Peterson, Pukwana, S.D., served as auctioneer for the Hereford Sale. He auctioned 18 bulls and five females. Eighteen bulls averaged $3,355.56, and the five females averaged $2,940.
