Advisor for Country Real Estate training to be held in Pierre March 18-19
BROOKINGS – SDSU Extension will be providing Advisor for Country Real Estate (ACRE-SD) training for real estate agents who sell rural properties.
To be eligible for the ACRE-SD designation, real estate agents must meet the following qualifications: be licensed with the SD Real Estate Commission (SDREC); complete Levels 1 and 2 of the continuing educational course “Promoting Resource Stewardship & Planning in Real Estate Transactions”; pass a written exam; and pay an annual fee.
Real estate agents earning the ACRE-SD designation will receive, in addition to privileges of designation status, a complete acreage resource kit, year-round technical support from SDSU Extension and have their contact information listed on http://iGrow.org .
Qualification Course held March 18-19
SDREC-approved courses that qualify for the ACRE-SD designation will be held March 18-19, 2013. Application for ACRE-SD designation is optional. “Promoting Resource Stewardship & Planning in Real Estate Transactions-Level 1” will take place March 18 from 12:30-5 p.m. CDT at the SDSU Extension Regional Center, located at 412 W. Missouri Ave. in Pierre.
The program offers four and a half hours of approved continuing education credits through the SDREC (2 Required; 2.5 Elective), and will focus on land-use planning, stocking rates, feed costs, and weed laws. The registration fee for Level 1 is $65.
Level 2, which is approved for five and a half hours of continuing education credits (1.5 Required; 4 Elective) and will begin at 8 a.m. CDT and conclude around noon on March 19 at the same location, and is open to any real estate agent who has completed Level 1. Topics for Level 2 will include fence laws, homestead design considerations, rural zoning/taxation, water quality, alternative livestock, and income opportunities for acreage owners.
