SDSU Extension hosts Aberdeen Cattle Feeding Forum April 11
BROOKINGS – SDSU Beef Extension Team will host a South Dakota Cattle Feeders Forum on April 11, 2013 at the Aberdeen Regional Extension Center. The program runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The center is located as 13 2nd Ave SE in Aberdeen, SD.
The program is an open meeting for beef cattle feeders, industry affiliates, state and local officials and any other interested parties. The intent is to provide discussion and gather input on the current issues facing South Dakota cattle feeders, as well as, the direction of the industry and how SDSU Extension can best meet these needs through educational and training programs.
This forum is the result of feedback from beef producers and affiliates concerning the need for expanded cattle feeding and the lack of trained personnel and managers.
Based on input from this forum, more forums of similar nature may develop throughout the state. For more information contact, Roger Ellis, SDSU Extension Beef Feedlot Field Specialist, (605) 626-2870 or roger.ellis@sdstate.edu.
