New Livestock Business Management Field Specialist
BROOKINGS – SDSU Extension recently hired Shannon Sand as the new Livestock Business Management Field Specialist, pending the approval of the Board of Regents.
In this position, Sand will deliver research-based programming and develop educational resources focused on livestock business management and marketing for livestock producers across the state. One of her first series of educational workshops will be the Ag CEO series in Kadoka and Belle Fourche, which will be held in May and June.
“We are excited to have Shannon Sand join the SDSU Extension team because of her education and practical experience,” said Rosie Nold, SDSU Extension Agriculture & Natural Resources Program Director.
Sand grew up on a cow/calf operation in Florida. She received her Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s degree in Food and Resource Economics from University of Florida.
