Day County 4-H Shooting Sports results

Day County 4-H Shooting Sports participated recently at the State Shoot in Ft. Pierre. Savanna Bloom, beginner, placed 1st overall in air rifle and received 1st place medals in the prone, standing, and kneeling positions. Miranda Hanson, junior, placed 1st in 3-D archery, 1st in Recurve open, 2nd in Recurve with Sights, and 2nd in Compound with sights. Nolan Richie, senior, placed 2nd in compound without sights, Allison Duerre, junior, placed 3rd in 3-D archery. The junior compound with sights archery team of Miranda Hanson, Ty Dunse, Jared Storms, and Connor Fischer placed 1st. The senior compound without sights team of Nolan Richie, Ryan Skadsen, and Logan Richie placed 1st. The senior recurve without sights team of Nolan Richie, Logan Richie, and Lance Amundson placed 1st.

The beginner compound without sights team of Abby Richie, Emily Richie, Savanna Bloom, and Jake Case placed 3rd. The junior recurve without sights team of Collin Amundson, Hanna Bloom, and Ty Dunse placed 3rd. The junior compound without sights team of Allison Duerre, Collin Amundson, and Jared Storms placed 3rd.

Placing at the state competition in Match 1 in recurve without sights were Hanna Bloom, junior, 1st; Ty Dunse, junior, 3rd; and Savanna Bloom, beginner, 3rd. Placing in compound without sights were Ryan Skadsen, senior, 2nd and Allison Duerre, junior, 3rd. Placing in compound without sights with a release was Hanna Bloom, junior, 3rd. Miranda Hanson, junior, placed 1st in recurve with sights, 1st in recurve open, and 2nd in compound with sights.

Placing at the the state competition in Match 2 in recurve without sights were Nolan Richie, senior, 1st; Logan Richie, senior, 2nd, and Miranda Hanson, junior, 3rd. Placing in compound without sights was Nolan Richie, senior, 1st. Placing in compound without sights with a release were Abby Richie, beginner, 1st and Miranda Hanson, junior, 3rd.

Shooting 22 pistol was junior Miranda Hanson, red.

The annual Shooting Sports Fun Day was held at the shooting sports complex in May and awards and ribbons were given out. Receiving the Coaches Awards in Archery were beginners Jacob Pereboom and Savanna Bloom, juniors Miranda Hanson and Hanna Bloom, and senior Lance Amundson. Most Improved Archery awards were beginners Kennedy Johnson and Jake Case. Receiving Coaches Awards in Air Pistol were beginner Rana Hegg and junior Olivia Breske. Receiving Coaches Awards in BB Gun were beginner Lane Stern and junior Georgia Duerre. Receiving Coaches Awards in Air Rifle were beginner Savanna Bloom and junior Brandy Peterson. Receiving Coaches Awards in Shotgun were beginner Savanna Bloom, junior Hanna Bloom, and senior Kyle Johnson. Most Improved in Shotgun was Jared Storms.

Receiving arrows for joining the 100 club and shooting a score of 100 or more were Olivia Dorsett, Kennedy Johnson, Annie Witt, Emily Richie, Jacob Pereboom, Jake Case, Kayla Fischer, Tanner Amundson, and Collin Amundson. Joining the 120 club and shooting a score of 120 or more was Trevor Case.
