S.D. Dept. of Ag Lead Field Office Open House June 1

RAPID CITY – The South Dakota Department of Agriculture (SDDA) Lead Field Office will host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at its new facility on Saturday, June 1. The ceremony will take place at noon, and the open house will follow until 2 p.m. MDT.

Staff from the South Dakota Wildland Fire Division, SDDA Resource Conservation and Forestry Division and the Lead Volunteer Fire Department will share the new building. This office was previously located at the Old Nevada Gulch School House.

In addition to housing multiple resources, this facility has been designed to host training exercises.

Cody Griffee, Division Chief with South Dakota Wildland Fire Division for the Lead Field Office said the old office was crowded, but this new facility offers much more space.

“We’re very fortunate to have this new facility. We were able to provide input in the design of the building and things are much more efficient,” said Griffee.

The new building is located at 622 Hearst Ave. STE B in Lead.
