South Dakota Beef Industry Council Meeting June 24-25

PIERRE – Directors and staff of the South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) will gather June 24 and 25 at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Aberdeen for various committee meetings, as well as the organization’s full board of directors’ quarterly meeting.

Promotion and executive committees will meet June 24 at 7 p.m. The Prime Promoter Committee will meet the next day at 10 a.m., followed at 11 a.m. by SDBIC’s full board quarterly meeting. Staff from the Pennsylvania Beef Council and the Northeast Beef Initiative will attend the full board meeting, providing highlights of SDBIC-funded, state-to-state partnership projects, and to discuss the possibility of future checkoff-funded partnerships. Directors will also select the 2013 Prime Promoter Award winners, as well as hear reports from staff and those serving on the Federation of State Beef Councils, Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board, and the U.S. Meat Export Federation. SDBIC staff and directors will have the opportunity to tour the Northern Beef Packers in Aberdeen prior to the board of directors’ meeting.
