Edmunds County 4-H Livestock Judging Contest
4-H members from five counties gathered for livestock judging at the Edmunds County Fairgrounds on Monday, June 10, 2013. Counties included Edmunds, McPherson, Spink, Faulk and Walworth. There were seventeen Judgers.
Lane Peterson, an intern at DakotaLand Feeds of Mobridge, SD was one of the official judges. He is a senior at South Dakota State University majoring in Animal Science and member of the SDSU Livestock Judging team. Alex Jung also assisted as an official judge. Jung is a recent graduate of SDSU, SDSU Livestock Judge and is now working for an area farmer.
Classes of steers, heifers, lambs, and goats were judged. High scorers were as follows: Senior Kaylee Braun of Ipswich; Junior Andrew Fuhrmann of Ipswich, and Beginner Kale Pharis of Ipswich.
Midwest Ag Supply, North Central Farmers Elevator and DakotaLand Feeds supplied door prizes for the members.
