Join Wilmot in celebrating Harvest Fest 2013!
Events are scheduled from July 26-28, 2013 around the city of Wilmot. The weekend will kick off with an afternoon for kids at a Climate Seminar. This event is from 1-4 p.m. at the Rendezvous Point. Following that, Wilmot’s Summer Dinner Theater presents Love! At the Caf! Enjoy a delicious meal at the Wilmot Community Center while being entertained by the sights and sounds of this musical production. Tickets are going fast, so be sure to call Jodi Peery at (605) 938-4530 to reserve yours today. After your fill of food and laughter, head down Main Street for the Street Dance with music by Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Start your Saturday with a meal, good deals and an energizing race. City-wide rummage sales will be held all day, be sure to stop at Jurgens Oil for a print-out of the listings. While you’re there, stay for the 5K Run/Walk beginning at 8:00 am. Stop in at or call Jurgens Oil (605-938-4641) for pre-registration. The Wilmot Care Center will serve breakfast from 7-10 am in the Community Center. And be sure to enjoy the local produce and goodies at the Farmer’s Market in the City Park from 9 a.m.-12 noon. Come watch the Co-Ed Softball Tournament beginning at 9:30 am on Saturday. Wilmot FFA will provide concessions. Have little kids? The Kiddie Tractor Pull, near the Wilmot Community Center, is a great place to burn off some energy. Ages 4-11 are welcome to participate. From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., the Wilmot High School Cheerleaders will provide Games in the Park. The parade begins at 12 noon, entries can line up by the school at 11:30 a.m. Check out the Pie and Ice Cream Social, sponsored by the Cancer Walk Team, from 11-2:30 and Lunch Concessions, sponsored by Post Prom Committee, at 12 noon. Both are at the Wilmot Community Center. Saturday afternoon will be busy with The Amazing Race (contact Rachel Buemer at 605-881-1575) beginning at 1 p.m., an Adult Weather Workshop from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Rendezvous Point, and a bean bag tourney beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Main Street. Always a great meal is the Fireman’s Supper in the Wilmot City Park from 6-8 p.m., enjoy free entertainment in the park while you eat. Take in the Street Dance on Main Street with music provided by Rock, Paper, Scissors. At dusk, the firemen will wow you with a fireworks display at the school ball field.
Worship together with the Community Worship Service in the City Park beginning at 10:30 am. Dinner will follow, served by Horizons. Then, wrap up your weekend at the Circle W Ranch Rodeo, beginning at 2 p.m., south of Wilmot on Hey 123. Can’t wait to see you there!
