Jamestown ram sale a success
The 2013 North Dakota Lamb & Wool Producers Jamestown Ram Sale was held on Saturday, August 3 at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds.
There were many consignors representing the best of their flocks, meeting with buyers and leaders in the North Dakota sheep industry.
High selling ram was from James Valley Stock Farm, Lamoure, N.D., selling to Regan Smith of Powell Wyoming for $700.00. High listing consignor was Brent Kuss of Woodworth, N.D. Top buyer of the day was Pat Metz of Gackle, ND.
Offered for sale were 48 ewe lambs which sold with average $232. each.
There was an excellent turnout of buyers indicating an optimism in the sheep industry future. Burdell Johnson did an outstanding job of auctioneering the sale with much appreciation from the North Dakota Lamb & Wool Producers.
For sheep producers still looking for more rams and ewes, there will be the NDLWPA Hettinger sale coming up on Wednesday, September 18 at 1 p.m. in Hettinger, N.D.
