The National Northern Field Day for the American Akaushi Association will be Saturday, Sept. 14 at Veblen.

The first Akaushi Polled Purebred females in the world will be on display at the JL Nickeson ranch, 44554 106th Street near Veblen. Jim Nickeson, a long-time cattleman, has purchased numerous full blood bred Akaushi heifers. Akaushi cattle are derived from Japan. The government there has developed a bovine that is highly efficient and healthy.

Viewing of Akaushi crosses and full bloods will begin at 10 a.m. At 1 p.m., beef leaders from Texas to South Dakota will be introduced for the profit seminar. Email nickeson@tnics.com or call 605-651-3636.
