Honeybees

The Honeybees 4-H Club met on Dec. 15 at the Warner Community Center. The 4:30 p.m. meeting was called to order by President Kari Gascoigne.

The secretary’s report was read by Erin Ochsner. The treasurer’s report was read by Logan Ellingson.

There was no old business. New business involved discussion of 4-H medals. Leader Michelle Weber informed the members on how they can apply and receive 4-H medals. She encouraged members to give talks and demonstrations in project areas.

The next meeting will be held on Jan. 12 at 12:30 p.m. The hostess for the next meeting will be Olivia O’Hara.

After the meeting the 4-H members exchanged Christmas gifts and went ice skating at Odde Ice Arena.

Community Service Project: The members made candy sleighs to donate to Bethesda Nursing Home in Aberdeen.

Friendly Fellows and Daisies

The Friendly Fellows and Daisies 4-H Club met Jan. 5 at the Jungle in Groton. President Landon Marzahn called the meeting to order with roll call topic “Favorite Christmas Present.” Flag pledges were led by Breanna Marzahn and Colin Frey. The secretary’s report was approved by Colin Frey and seconded by Branden Boe. The treasurer’s report was approved by Nicole Marzahn and seconded by Andrew Marzahn. Communications were read by Colin Frey.

Old business included a discussion of the Christmas party and enrolling new members. Kaitlyn Anderson closed old business and was seconded by Hanna Miller. In new business, Leader, Mike Frey reviewed the Newshound and rocket orders. Final plans were made for the club’s annual ski trip to Andes Tower Hills on Feb. 16. Mallory Miller closed new business and was seconded by Kennedy Anderson. Other business, bowling and pizza party after the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned by Breanna Marzahn and seconded by Kamryn Fliehs. Talks and demonstrations were given by Landon Marzahn, “Cover Cushion”; Breanna Marzahn, “4-H Congress”; Nicole Marzahn, “Babysitting Kit”; Trey Wright, “Tie Down Calf Roping.”

Lunch was served by Braden Miller. The next meeting will be Feb. 9 at the Claremont Methodist Church.
