Chris Payne elected to CropLife America’s board of directors
WASHINGTON, DC – Chris Payne, president and CEO of CNI (Chem Nut, Inc.), has been elected to serve on CropLife America’s (CLA) board of directors. Payne was elected to replace a vacant, unexpired term on the board. His term became effective on Feb. 25, 2014 following a vote by the board during its annual winter meeting.
“CLA is pleased to welcome Chris as the newest member of its board of directors,” noted Jay Vroom, CLA’s president and CEO. “We look forward to the contributions he will bring as the board addresses long-term, strategic goals that support ongoing advancements within the crop protection industry.”
Payne joined CNI in 2010 as the company’s executive vice president. He has been CNI’s president since January 2011 and CEO since May 2011. Prior to his leadership at CNI, he held various positions within the crop protection industry at companies including Union Carbide, Rhone Poulenc, Aventis and Bayer CropScience, as well as with the North Carolina State Cooperative Extension. His background includes experience in field development, sales, product development and sales management.
