Agri-Inject appoints new international sales manager
YUMA, Colo. — As the recently appointed International Sales Manager, Michael Coufal may still be relatively new to Agri-Inject and the sale of injection pumps and systems. However, he is certainly not new to irrigation or international travel. Fact is, Coufal held the same position for T-L Irrigation before joining Agri-Inject and, equally important, maintains an excellent working relationship with his past employer, along with the other irrigation equipment manufacturers based in Nebraska.
“Right now, Agri-Inject has pumps in a number of countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and Australia, including China, Russia, Mexico, Uruguay and Tanzania,” Coufal says. “However, it is still an immature market outside the United States. Consequently, much of my job involves educating farmers on the efficiency of injecting fertilizer and chemicals through their irrigation system, thereby saving fuel, compaction, equipment wear, etc. If they already have a $50,000 center pivot setting there, or own a $30,000 hose reel, why not use it as efficiently as possible?”
Based in Hastings, Nebraska, Coufal says he currently travels about one week out of each month and spends the remainder of his time putting together proposals, writing e-mails and talking with international producers who travel to Nebraska to visit with one of the state’s four center pivot irrigation system manufacturers.
“Chemical injection is just one more tool that a company like T-L Irrigation or Reinke can use to sell their products,” he explains. “So, giving me the opportunity to meet with their customers while they are in the area actually benefits both of us.”
When he is not traveling or working in the office, Coufal says he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children who are one and four years of age, and taking advantage of the hunting, boating and sports opportunities that south central Nebraska has to offer.
“I still enjoy traveling, though, and I particularly enjoy meeting farmers from different parts of the world,” Coufal concludes. “Plus, I enjoy and appreciate the freedom and flexibility Agri-Inject has given me to develop the market as I see fit. It’s been a good experience and it has already resulted in a good push forward.”
Founded in 1983 near Yuma, Colorado, in the heart of one the of most productive irrigation counties in the nation, Agri-Inject has grown into one of the largest suppliers of valves and chemigation, fertigation and insectigator pumps and systems in the world.
