Dakota Environmental to add tank cleaning services this spring

Farm Forum

Dakota Environmental, Inc., located in Huron, has been a leader in preparing Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans and Steel Tank Institute certified tank inspections for nearly 15 years, working mainly bulk fuel distributors as well as the ag community.

Due to the overwhelming need for tank cleaning services in the Upper Midwest, Dakota Environmental is proud to announce that they will be adding tank cleaning services to their list of provided services starting this spring. With these tank cleaning services, they will be able to clean most underground and horizontal aboveground fuel tanks as well as some sizes of vertical aboveground fuel tanks on farms, at c-stores, and bulk facilities. For most tanks, the cleaning process can be completed without taking the tank out of service. During the cleaning process water, sludge, and other contaminants will be removed while at the same time cleaning the fuel and reintroducing it back into the tank.

Dakota Environmental’s coverage area includes all of North Dakota and South Dakota, as well as western Minnesota and northern Nebraska. They will continue assisting the regulated community by writing SPCC plans and conducting Steel Tank Institute certified tank inspections. Dakota Environmental strives to find the most economical ways for the regulated community to meet these requirements.
