South Dakota
SIOUX FALLS – Milk production in South Dakota during June 2014 totaled 177 million pounds, up five percent from June 2013, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The average number of milk cows was 97,000 head. Milk production per cow averaged 1,825 pounds.
North Dakota
FARGO, N.D. – Milk production in North Dakota for the April – June 2014 quarter totaled 83 million pounds, down 7 percent from 89 million pounds during the same period a year earlier, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The average number of milk cows was 16,500 head.
Minnesota
Milk production in Minnesota during June 2014 totaled 761 million pounds, up less than 1 percent from last June, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Milk Production report. The average number of milk cows during June, at 460,000 head, was unchanged from last month. Monthly production per cow averaged 1,655 pounds.
Iowa
Milk production in Iowa during June 2014 totaled 387 million pounds, up 1 percent from last June, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Milk Production report. The average number of milk cows during June, at 207,000 head, was unchanged from last month. Monthly production per cow averaged 1,870 pounds.
Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. — Milk production in Nebraska during the April-June 2014 quarter totaled 303 million pounds, up one percent from the April-June quarter last year, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. The average number of milk cows was 54,000 head.
