FFA shines at FFA Day with the Twins
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The sun shone on almost 500 FFA members, family and friends at Target Field on July 27th for FFA Day with the MN Twins. This was not just any Twins game to the South Dakota FFA members in attendance. Students had the opportunity to walk on the field pregame in a parade as the Minnesota Twins took on the Chicago White Sox. The “FFA Day with the Twins” is a celebration of the legacy of FFA and agricultural education in which a portion of ticket sales are donated to the South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin FFA organizations. The talents within FFA members were showcased when FFA members sang the National Anthem on the field; Tyler Wagner, Webster SD FFA member threw the first pitch, FFA members in attendance walked the field pre-game; and FFA members showed their professionalism throughout the baseball game by doing their job as fans, and cheering on the Minnesota Twins. Prior to the game, FFA fans gathered in the hospitality area for a meet and greet to meet other FFA members and received free Twins gear and tell people who know nothing about the FFA organization what it stand for and why FFA is committed to developing the leaders of tomorrow. Webster FFA member, Tyler Wagner said of the event, “Being on the field for the first pitch, and representing FFA in front of the crowd was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.”
FFA thanks the following sponsors for making this event a reality: CHS Foundation, Land O’Lakes, Inc., and Northland Ford. Wagner says “Thank you FFA Foundation sponsors for this opportunity. The event was not only enjoyable but also educational!”
