S.D. breeders who registered the most Angus named

The 10 producers who registered the most Angus beef cattle in the state of South Dakota recorded a total of 3694 Angus with the American Angus Association during fiscal year 2014, which ended Sept. 30, according to Bryce Schumann, Association chief executive officer.

The 10 top recorders in South Dakota are: Jorgensen Ranches, Ideal; Edgar Bros, Rockham; Raven Angus, Colome; Vern Edward Koupal, Dante; Wilkinson Ranch, Lake Preston; Thomas Ranch, Harrold; Hart Farms, Frederick; Daniel or Casey Maher, Morristown; Donald E Miller, Estelline; Hugh E Ingalls, Faith.

Angus breeders across the nation in 2014 registered 298,369 head of Angus cattle. “Our year-end statistics continue to demonstrate strong demand for Angus genetics and solidify our long-held position as a leader in the beef cattle industry,” Schumann says. “These results underscore our members’ commitment to providing genetic solutions to the beef cattle industry.”
