ST. PAUL, Minn. – AgriBank has been named the second safest bank in the United States by Global Finance magazine, and earned a place on its “World’s 50 Safest Banks” list for the second consecutive year.

“Financial strength is key to our ability to fulfill our mission to meet the credit needs of rural America over the long term,” said Bill York, AgriBank CEO. “Customers have placed their trust in AgriBank and affiliated Farm Credit Associations for nearly 100 years. They can have confidence they’re doing business with one of the safest banks in the world.”

The financial services industry magazine names the “World’s 50 Safest Banks” annually and honored the recognized banks on Oct. 11 at a ceremony during the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Washington, D.C. Global Finance magazine will publish the full 2014 rankings in its November issue. The ranking methodology includes total assets and an evaluation of long-term ratings from major rating agencies. AgriBank was also named to the list in 2013.
