Dakota Sharpshooters
The Dakota Sharpshooters met Oct. 7 at the Northern Electric Building at 7 p.m.
Jessemy Sharp led the American Pledge, and Colin Sprinkel led the 4-H Pledge. This meeting was the first meeting for the 2014-2015 4-H year. We have four new members: Isaiah Sharp, Anna Johnson, Ryan Goldade, and Abbilyn Kaan. The club discussed at the meeting what the dues would be for the members. For a regular member the fee is $3, and for a member in the Horse Project it is $4. The online 4-H enrollment forms will be down until Nov. 1. The members group signed a thank you note to the Airport Café for letting the club display exhibits for 4-H week.
The club elected new officers for this new 4-H year. The president is Megan Malsam; vice president is Daniel Sharp; secretary is Travis Sharp; treasurer is Colin Sprinkel; corresponding Secretary is Shea Jandel; reporter is Grace Malsam; callers are Rease Jandel and Isaiah Sharp.
The Dakota Sharpshooters Club will be doing a fundraiser at the Farmer’s Market on Oct. 16 and maybe on Oct. 23 and Oct. 30 from 3 to 6 p.m. The Dakota Sharpshooter’s ditch cleaning picture is in the Farm Forum. The window display for 4-H week tear down will be Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. The 4-H Recognition Event will be Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Ramada. The Dakota Sharpshooter’s are helping with baking cookies for the 4-H Recognition Event. Members who volunteered need to make 1 dozen non-peanut butter cookies. The members decided to have 5 club goals this year. They are 1) Try to be in at least one new project area, 2) Turn Record books in on time, 3) Do at least one club talk, 4) Attend six 4-H meetings during this year, and 5) Exhibit two projects at the Brown County Fair.
The next meeting will be Nov. 9 after the 4-H Recognition Event.
