Honorary American FFA Degree awarded to six South Dakotans

The National FFA Board of Directors approved the nomination of 166 Honorary American FFA Degree recipients this year. South Dakota has six supporters that were recognized with this honor:

• Roger DeRouchey (Alexandria, SD)

• Lance Howe (Redfield, SD)

• Kent and Shawn VanderWal, parents of American Star in Agribusiness Finalist (Bruce, SD)

• David and Jolene Eichacker, parents of American Star in Agricultural Placement Finalist (Salem, SD)

The Honorary American FFA Degree is bestowed to those who have made a major contribution to advance agriculture and/or agricultural education. The Honorary American FFA Degree recipients were recognized at the 87th National FFA Convention in Louisville, KY on Friday, Oct. 31.
