The mailed early entry deadline for market livestock showing at the 62nd Annual Sioux Empire Farm Show is Friday, Jan. 9. Early online entries will be accepted until Sunday, Jan. 18. Late entries will be accepted through the check-in time with a paid late fee.

The 62nd Annual Sioux Empire Farm Show will be held Jan. 27-31; a complete show schedule, rules and entry forms can be found at Market livestock shows and sales include: feeder heifer, market steer, feeder steer, breeding heifer, market swine, market goats, and market lambs. Following is the schedule for the shows:

Market barrow and gilts will show Wednesday, Jan. 28 beginning at 8 am. Jason Boyle of Iowa will serve as the judge of the Market Swine Show. A division of purebred market swine continues this year.

Feeder heifers will show Thursday, Jan. 29 beginning at 6 p.m. The judge for that show will be announced at a later date.

The market lamb show will take place Thursday, Jan. 29 at 6 pm. Chance Neff of Texas will place the market lambs. Neff will also judge the market goat show, which will be held Friday, Jan. 31 beginning at 10 a.m.

Supreme Row judging will kick off activities on Friday, Jan. 31 at 9 a.m. The $12,000 purse is sponsored by the Tri-State Neighbor as the Gold sponsor, Wells Fargo Bank as the Silver sponsor and Campbell Supply Co. as the Bronze sponsor. The winnings will be split between the Supreme Champion Bull and Heifer over all breeds, with $3,500 going to the consignor and $2,500 going to the buyer.

Market steers will also show Friday, Jan. 31 at 10:30 a.m., followed by the feeder steer show at 11:30 a.m. Randy Mullinix of Illinois is the judge of the market and feeder steers and also the breeding heifer show which will take place on Saturday, Jan. 31, beginning at 12:30 p.m.

All livestock events take place at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in the Expo Building. The top five market steers, top 10 market swine, top five market lambs and the top five market goats will sell at the Mayor’s Round-up & Sale of Champions, which will be held Friday, Jan. 31 at the Best Western PLUS Ramkota Exhibit Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and tickets are $45 per person, which includes a prime rib dinner.

Commercial Exhibits will be on display Wednesday, Jan. 28-Friday, Jan. 31 at the Expo Building at the Fairgrounds, the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, the Sioux Falls Convention Center and the Sioux Falls Arena. Admission is free. Exhibits are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday.
