PIERRE — The 2015 Black Hills Stock Show (BHSS) is just around the corner, and it’s a chance for cattlemen to attend rodeos, check out the cattle sales, visit with old friends, and learn more about the Beef Checkoff Program.

The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) will have a booth at this year’s BHSS from Jan. 30-Feb. 7.

“We welcome all attendees to the BHSS to stop by our booth located in the SE Concourse next to Rushmore Hall,” said Ron Frederick, SDBIC executive director. “Find out what’s new in beef promotion and pick up some beef recipe ideas at the booth.”

The SDBIC is also sponsoring Beef Day on Saturday, Jan. 31 in conjunction with the PRCA Sutton Rodeo events held at 1:30 p.m. MST.

“In addition, the SDBIC is teaming up with KOTA Radio to present the KOTA Beef Chili Cook-off, which will be held on Sunday, Feb. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. MST,” said Frederick. “The SDBIC will be awarding $650 in beef certificates to the top place qualifiers, best display, and people’s choice awards. The SDBIC is also sponsoring the BHSS Youth Beef Cook-off Contest and co-sponsoring the KBHB Ag Social Invitation event on Feb. 6 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.”

Over 300,000 people attend the BHSS, which is the region’s premier livestock event with livestock consignors and buyers coming from over 20 states. For more information or an event schedule go to
