Brad Hohn of MDS Manufacturing honored with the Friends of the Industry Award from the South Dakota Pork Producers Council
SIOUX FALLS, SD – The South Dakota Pork Producers Council recognized Brad Hohn with the Friends of the Industry Award during the 11:30 AM Awards Luncheon on January 15, 2015.
The Friends of the Industry Award recognizes state individuals, leaders or businesses for their continued support of the pork industry. The recipient will be given a certificate, plaque and a check for their outstanding involvement and service to the pork industry.
Brad was born and raised in the Dimock, SD. He graduated from Northern State College in 1990 with a degree in Business Management and Marketing. Brad is a co-owner of MDS Mfg Co., Inc. in Parkston, South Dakota with his brothers Steve & Brian Hohn. MDS Mfg. and a leading manufacturer for farm equipment attachments and the building of hog confinement facilities. Brad became interested in hogs as a young child and would work out on his best friend’s farm whenever he got the chance.
His wife, Lisa, is a Title I teacher with the Menno school system. They have been happily married for 24 years. Brad & Lisa are the proud parents of Emily and Alec. Emily is a freshman at the University of South Dakota. Alec is a sophomore at Parkston High School. Brad and Lisa are heavily involved with the Parkston Band Booster Club.
Brad firmly believes in serving the public and doing what he can for others. He frequently volunteers at the Banquet in Sioux Falls, SD, concessions at high school activities, church, past president of the Parkston Commercial Club and is currently Vice-President of the Parkston City Council.
In his spare time, he enjoys wood working, DIY house projects, attending music concerts and baseball games, camping and traveling. One of his proudest achievements is completing a 2 ½ year house renovation on their 1930’s home with his family.
