SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Miles DeJong, Kennebec, S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Charolais Show Jan. 29 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

DeJong chose lot 11, White Rose Hoo Diablo, a consignment from White Rose Charolais, Clearwater, Minn., as champion bull. He was sired by CML Diablo 2X and out of BCC Hoodoo Wind 6017-4014ET. He sold to Joe Bosworth, White Lake, S.D., for $3,750.

Reserve champion bull went to lot 9, NGC Wahoo 414B, a consignment from North Grove Charolais, Grove City, Minn. He was sired by Keys All State 149X and out of NGC Elvira 131Y ET. He sold for $3,750 to Robert Preheim, Parker, S.D.

The highest selling bull was lot 16, a consignment from McGunegill Charolais, Jasper, Minn. He sold to Walter Ranschau, Inwood, Iowa, for $6,000. The second highest selling bull was lot 13, a consignment from Vedvei Charolais Ranch, Lake Preston, S.D. He sold for $5,750 to Bleyenboy Brothers, Sioux Center, Iowa.

DeJong chose lot 2, NGC AYLA 415B, a consignment from Brandon Fischer, Grove City, Minn., as champion female. She was sired by Keys All State 149X and out of NGC Martina 002X. She was the highest selling female selling for $6,500 to Daniel Klaassen, Little Rock, Iowa.

DeJong chose lot 1, DCC Miss Fired Up, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by Driscoll Cattle Co., De Smet, S.D. She was sired by Circle Cee Fired Up and out of DCC Miss Relevante 861. She was the second highest selling female for $3,500 to Brooks VanDyke, Elkton, S.D.

Seth Weishaar, Belle Fourche, S.D., served as auctioneer for the Charolais Sale. He auctioned 12 bulls and two females. Twelve bulls averaged $4,050, and the two females averaged $5,000.
