SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Jim Krantz, Howard, S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Simmental Show Jan. 28 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Krantz chose lot 29, LEFS Mr. GAMEDAY 1402B, a consignment from Lehrman Family Simmentals, Spencer, S.D., as champion bull. He was sired by GDAR Game Day 449 and out of ES Z92. He sold for $5,750 to Michael Binger, Tulare, S.D.

Reserve champion bull went to lot 20, ADSC BROKER B661, a consignment from Austin Dockter, Milbank, S.D. He was sired by Mr HOC Broker and out of Miss Royale. He sold for $4,000 to Greg Nugteren, Monroe, S.D.

The highest selling bull was a consignment from Lehrman Family Simmentals. He sold for $10,250 to Rich Horton, Hurley, S.D. The second highest selling bull was a consignment from Keene Cattle Company, Hartley, Iowa. He sold to Dennis Dystra, Marion, S.D., for $6,250.

Krantz chose lot 5, B67, a consignment from Tom VanAsselt, Colton, S.D., as champion female. She was sired by Mr HOC Broker and out of Double J Miss S657. She was the highest selling female selling for $5,750 to Harlan Rasmussen, Sanborn, Minn.

Krantz chose lot 4, MISS BILLIE, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by Home Stake Ranch, Wolsey, S.D. She was sired by Flying B Cut Above and out of JBS Miss Granite 642K. She was the second highest selling female and sold for $3,250 to Tom Bullerman, Adrian, Minn.

Chisum Peterson, Pukwana, S.D., served as auctioneer for the Simmental Sale. He auctioned 15 bulls and seven females. Fifteen bulls averaged $4,883.33, and the seven females averaged $2,950.
