Bowdle High School receives a $2,000 grant for building a greenhouse
Bowdle High School has received a $2,000 Working Here Fund grant to purchase materials to construct a greenhouse. The grant is provided through Farm Credit Services of America’s (FCSAmerica) Working Here Fund.
Bowdle High School students enrolled in the Ag Education program will design, price materials and build the permanent structure which will be located on the south side of the Ag Building of the Bowdle School.
Jackie Borgue, Ag Education teacher, stated that they plan to have the greenhouse completed by March of 2016.
“Supporting the communities that we serve is very important to us” said Josh Rife, Financial Officer of FCSAmerica’s Aberdeen office. “This is a great opportunity to help educate the next generation and to keep students engaged in agriculture.”
Bowdle High School is one of 82 organizations to receive a Working Here Fund grant in the first quarter of 2015. FCSAmerica awarded $135,000 during the latest grant cycle ending March 31, 2015.
