HURON, S.D. – Registration forms are now available for South Dakota’s Largest Classroom at the South Dakota State Fair. Teachers and students from across the state are invited to kick off the 2015-2016 school year by participating on Thursday, Sept. 3 and Friday, Sept. 4.

This educational program gives students an opportunity to experience things they may not otherwise have a chance to see in a regular classroom environment.

While attending, students will be able to watch Aussie Kingdom sponsored by American Bank & Trust, visit the exotic animal petting zoo and take part in Value Added Ag activities. The FFA Animal Nursery, a one-room schoolhouse, the Dakotaland Museum and 4-H and open class exhibits are also part of the classroom agenda.

Schools are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Students that are homeschooled are also encouraged to register. Last year, just over 900 students and teachers attended. The program is free to students, teachers and chaperones. Lunch and parking will also be provided. The registration form can be obtained by calling (605) 353-7340.

The 2015 South Dakota State Fair will run from Thursday, Sept. 3, through Monday, Sept. 7. Channel Seeds preview night will be Wednesday, Sept. 2. This year’s theme is “Sew it. Grow it. Show it.” For more information on State Fair events, contact the Fair office at 800-529-0900, visit www.sdstatefair.com or find them on Facebook or Twitter.
