Langford’s Summer Fest July 25-26
The biggest little party in northeast South Dakota will kick off bright and early on Saturday, July 25, with the Town-wide Rummage Sale starting at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Starting at 5 p.m. Dakota Broadcasting will be on site for the Langford Volunteer Fireman’s Annual Pig Roast Fundraiser which includes the greatest pork sandwiches, chips and beverages throughout the weekend. The Britton Shrine Club will host the Battle of the Bags beanbag tournament at 5 p.m. outside the Legion Hall. The entry fee for the beanbag tournament will be $20 per team with a large cash payout for the top teams. Following the beanbag tournament, DJ Vaughn Reints will be providing evening entertainment in the Legion Hall.
Sunday’s events open with a community worship service at the Legion Hall beginning at 10:30 a.m.; the Sunday offering will benefit the Marshall County Food Pantry. The annual Show n’ Shine in the Park of the Pines is again expecting over 100 cars and begins at 11 a.m. The Fireman will be serving pork sandwiches and Highlanda WELCA will be serving ice cream throughout the day. New this year for the young ones is the Kiddie Parade starting at 12:30 p.m. and will take place around the Park of the Pines. Youth are encouraged to dress in costume, decorate their bikes/wagon, or bring a pet to enter in the parade. Also happening during the afternoon is the Talent Show in the Legion Hall at 1 p.m. and a Hot Shot Contest at The Courts starting at 2 p.m. To close out the weekend, Langford’s Volunteer Fireman will host the NESDRA Mud Drags at 3 p.m.
