2015 South Dakota Women in Ag Conference slated for Oct. 1 – 2
The South Dakota Women in Agriculture (SDWIA) committee is pleased to announce the event dates for the 14th annual South Dakota Women in Agriculture conference. Scheduled for Thurs. and Fri., Oct. 1st and 2nd, the event features educational and motivational presentations, hands-on activities, networking opportunities and so much more. The conference will be held at the Terra Sancta Retreat Center near Rapid City, SD.
This year’s theme, I am. I can. I will., encourages women of all walks of life to embrace and share their culture with future generations and encourage others to gain a better understanding of the agricultural industry.
“We are excited about this year’s conference and look forward to showcasing another great program with our attendees,” says SDWIA board president, Codi Mills. “We have an incredible lineup of presenters and topics that any woman can relate to and benefit from.”
Guest speaker and motivational humorist, Kay Frances will kick off the conference with a presentation that will shed a comical light on stressful situations. Shopping, networking and creative learning sessions will round out Thursday’s agenda. Breakout sessions about pollinators, self-defense tactics and planning for the unexpected will be offered on Friday. A workshop by Kay Frances, and a keynote presentation from FutureCast on millennial marketing will wrap up the conference. Meals are provided throughout the event.
“Our event is designed for girlfriends, grandmothers, mothers and daughters to enjoy together,” Mills adds. “We encourage all women who are involved in the agricultural industry, or those who just want to learn more, to join us in October.”
Conference registration is open now through Sept. 15. Details about the event, including registration, a complete agenda, directions and lodging information are available online at SouthDakotaWomenInAg.com. Event updates are also posted on the event’s Facebook page.
