Farmers from around the area are invited to the Summer Precision Summit 2015 on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Wheat Growers Innovation Plot near Aberdeen.

The area is one mile north of Wheat Growers Bath Fertilizer plant on 132nd Street.

The event begins with registration at 9 a.m., with a welcome by Brent Wiesenburger, Wheat Growers Precision Ag Manager and one of the event organizers.

“I am excited to have a few Wheat Growers agronomists talk about the most common errors they see producers make during spring planting,” Wiesenburger said. “They will show examples and have actionable solutions to these errors. In tougher farm economic times, it is even more important than ever to let technology help generate the most profit per acre.”

At 10:15 a.m., the group will look at “Lessons from the Field” by Jay Culver of Wheat Growers and Joe Airheart, Precision Ag Specialist.

Brad Ruden, Director of Agronomy Tech Services, will explore, “The Whole Package: Making it Pay,” at 11:15 a.m.

After a noon lunch, Wheat Growers Precision Ag Team of Reed Storley, Lance Larsen, Dustin Christofferson, Joe Airheart, Pet Wetzel and Jon Noethlich will explain new technology. That starts about 12:45 p.m.

Breakout sessions in the afternoon will start at 1:30 p.m., 2:10 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. Those attending will be able to rotate between sessions of these choices: “Actionable Data: A Better Planter Pass” by Troy McKown, Precision Planting NW Region Manager; “The Complete Precision Package” by Kale Glynn, Ag Leader S.D. and N.D. Territory Manager and” Gaining Control: Capturing the Potential” by Josh Messer, 360 Yield Center Regional Agronomy Manager.

At 3:30 p.m., there will be time for questions. The day will wrap up with a tour of the Wheat Growers Innovation Center.
