Angus Champions selected at 2015 Minnesota State Fair
Angus entries competed for top honors at the 2015 Minnesota State Fair Angus Show, September 5 in Minneapolis, Minn. Curt Rinker, Shelbyville, Ill., evaluated the 101 entries, which included 78 females, 20 bulls and three cow-calf pairs.
Chestnut Power 19 134 claimed grand champion bull honors. Wesly Johnson, Pipestone, Minn., and Bussmus Angus, Mitchell, S.D., own the January 2014 son of Chestnut Power One 19. He first claimed junior champion.
Nords Insight 518 was named reserve grand champion bull. Alisha Nord, Wolverton, Minn., owns the February 2015 son of PVF Insight 0129 that earlier won junior calf champion.
Plum Creek Annie Lu 4472 captured grand champion female and junior champion for Kennedy Core, Pleasantville, Iowa. She’s an April 2014 daughter of Gambles Hot Rod.
Ryland McCormick, Pleasantville, Iowa, claimed reserve grand champion female. CLF Mindemann MS Usa 22B is a March 2014 daughter of Plainview Lutton E102 and first won reserve junior champion.
Black Magic Angus, Arlington, Minn., claimed the grand champion cow-calf pair. DaEsRo Power Lass 1174 M100 is a March 2011 daughter of Justamere406S Panamajack336U. A February 2015 heifer calf sired by EXAR Significant 1769B completes the winning pair.
Black Magic Angus also showed the reserve grand champion cow-calf pair. Black Magic Power Lass 901 is a February 2013 daughter of Silveiras Style 9303. A February 2015 heifer calf sired by Vin-Mar O’Reilly Factor is at side.
