Sisseton’s Schiltz named competition finalist

Schiltz Foods, Inc. in Sisseton has been selected as a finalist in the 2015 Martha Stewart American Made Audience Choice Awards in the Food, Agriculture & Sustainability category.

Martha Stewart’s American Made contest is a nationally recognized awards program that celebrates rising stars of the growing nationwide maker community who have turned their passions for creating and producing various goods and products into small businesses and proudly make their products in America.

The panel of Martha Stewart judges will select up to or around 500 entrants from four categories as a finalist. There were around 1,950 entrants in all categories, and 63 entrants in the food, agriculture and sustainability category, with 11 being named as finalists.

Entrants who are selected as finalists will be eligible for a public voting for an Audience Choice Winner, which opened this week. 2015 Editors’ Award Winners and Audience Choice Winner will be announced on October 23.

Schiltz Foods was established in 1944 and is currently North America’s largest producer of goose and fine goose products.
