Webster FFA awarded scholarship

The Webster FFA Chapter at Webster Area High School was awarded a $1,000 sponsorship by Farm Credit Services of America (FCSAmerica) to help students attend the 2015 National FFA Convention and Expo.

The sponsorship was presented at the South Dakota State FFA Convention on April 13 in Brookings. The chapter’s advisor is Fred Zenk.

The National FFA Convention and Expo in Louisville offers a lineup of national speakers and entertainers, leadership workshops, agriculture-related tours and education and plenty of opportunities to meet FFA students from across the country. This year’s convention is Oct. 28-31.

The sponsorship opportunities are part of a random drawing in which FFA Chapters in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming are encouraged to register for their chance to win.

“At FCSAmerica, we take pride in supporting FFA and its members’ pursuit of excellence through new challenges,” said Terry Fjeldheim vice president of FCSAmerica’s Watertown office. “Through this sponsorship, we hope to help the next generation learn and grow as agribusiness leaders and producers.”
